Baby Food

Well I have been meaning to write about this for a while. I have started making my own baby food. Micah has almost outgrown ba
by food but we do have another one on the way who will enjoy it. I always thought that making my own food was a waste of my ti
me. However one winter day I was fresh out of food and did not feel like going to the store. So, I cooked some peas and threw them in the blender and viola. Baby food. Once you have blended the food poor it into ice cube trays and freeze. After a few hours pop out the cubes and put them in a freezer bag. Micah had never liked peas before that day but loved the fresh homemade peas. I then made butternut squash, green beans, sweet potatoes, carrots, apple pear sauce, peas, and s
trawberry banana sauce. It doesn't take that much time, I am sure it is healthier and costs much less than store bought food. And there is some weird satisfaction I get from seeing Micah enjoy something I made for him.
Last week Grandmama came for a very short visit. However she came bearing pretty rocks and easter baskets for the kids. They loved them and are still playing with the eggs. I even let Grace have some chocolate. Lucky for me she didn't care for it too much but she loved her reeces egg. Thanks Grandmama! I have learned that the best place to play with bubbles other than outside is the bath tub. Most kids love bubbles and mine do too. My mom bought these for grace when we went on our outing to Target. This is the same outing where Grace drove away on the electronic cart. We even had the manager shouting at Grace to stop the cart. The more they yelled the more scared she got so the harder she squeezed the handle making the cart continue. Some one had entered the wrong pin number on my mom's card so Grace didn't get to take her beloved bubbles home until we got things straightened out at the bank. She screamed until we finally got the bubbles. This was also the same day that I locked myself out of the house with the children inside. (however they were asleep) They didn't notice a thing. Lots of fun!!!

I enjoyed making Harrison's food too, sometimes I really did not think it was any cheaper but it was a good feeling when you go to the frezzer and know everything that is in the food, and that you did and did not just pick it up from the shelf.
